Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform site visits with project development team during preliminary analysis and investment grade audit periods to identify scope logistics and specific job requirements.
- Perform site walks with all prospective subcontractors and vendors to develop a fully comprehensive scope which meets or exceeds the required
- Energy performance expectations.
- Manage multiple large projects from design, bidding through construction and commissioning while meeting cost and schedule objectives
- Ensure that the projects meet long-term energy performance guarantees
- Develop constructive and long-lasting relationships with subcontractors and customers.
- Develop and lead effective teams
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Construction or commensurate progressive experience in mechanical contracting and/or energy services contracting (ESPC) strongly preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 7+ years progressively responsible experience in the project/construction management of projects from $ 250,000 to $ 15,000,000
- Experience in energy performance contracting
- Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple large energy conservation projects
- Ability to work and travel throughout state
- Contracting experience with K-12 School Districts, hospitals, local, state, federal government and large academic institutions would be beneficial

Maine Based Energy/HVAC Infrastructure Engineer

The Energy Engineering position will work closely with the sales team, the project management team, and clients and partners to design, manage and develop building energy improvements to reduce energy costs. The technologies include all facets of energy reduction, including lighting, HVAC, EMS controls, lighting controls, renewables, compressed air and other energy solutions.
An energy-related degree or some industry experience is preferred. A minimum of 2-5 years of technical engineering, design, ESCO, and/or consulting experience in energy analysis, performance contracts, or energy efficiency projects is required. Experience is required with efficiency improvements or audits of building utility infrastructure systems including but not limited to mechanical system plants, lighting, distribution plants, motors and automated controls.
Additional LEED and or energy modeling experience are a plus. Those who hold or are in pursuit of a Professional Engineer (PE) registration and/or a CEM is desirable.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Audit sites for energy measures.
- Gather key project details such as utility data, facility profiles, site drawings, system operating characteristics.
- Visit project sites to assess and document building, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems.
- Investigate, analyze, and document energy conservation and water cost reduction measures.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis including baseline profiles, end-use analysis, and retro fit analysis.
- Prepare and present technical content, proposals, analysis, and feasibility reports.
- Participate in peer review for engineering analyses and project costing.
- Provide critical review of proposals and reports through technical narrative editing.
- Various facets of energy auditing, energy calculations, and generating detailed energy reports regarding savings opportunities.
- Create benefit/cost analysis based on engineering fundamentals.
- Calculate and estimate various incentives for clients to implement energy reduction projects.
- Understanding of utility rates and programs, and able to calculate energy usage.

Job Description
Responsible for the sale of large, complex, bundled offerings with guaranteed savings to high potential, solution sales customers at the C-level. Promote the BIMS value proposition at the executive level (C-level) by providing solutions to the customer’s business and financial challenges. Builds and manages long term customer relationships/partnerships with key and target building owners. Responsible for customer satisfaction. Executes the sales process to aid in cultivating and managing long-term relationships and in seeking out, qualifying and closing new sales and guaranteed savings opportunities. Positions renewable service agreements and guaranteed savings as the foundation of managed account relationships. Utilizes sales tools to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunity in accounts. Leverage regular process checkpoints to gain progressive commitments from the customer. Seeks to expand the depth and breadth of offerings within that account. Select account team on key and target customers. Focused in multiple vertical markets, including K-12 Schools, healthcare, higher education and municipal markets.
Principal Duties
Sells, with minimal supervision, the BIMS offerings persuasively, persistently and confidently to building owners and owner representatives at the C-level while reaching industry standard profit levels. Particularly focusing on selling performance contracting while ensuring that we achieve maximize share of customers business. Focuses on demonstrating value at the executive level by providing solutions to business and financial challenges as well as working through gateways to achieve joint planning status. Sells, renews and expands renewable service agreements, including multi-year agreements, to both new and existing customer.
Builds partnering relationships with the economic buyer, owner or owner representatives responsible for the decision-making process to drive the solution sales of BIMS offerings. Manages ongoing sales process, develops relationship, responds to and anticipates customer needs. Actively listens, probes and identifies concerns. Understands the customer's business and speaks their language. Demonstrates financial and business acumen to develop credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment.
Seeks out, targets and initiates contact with prospective customers. Develops network of contacts. Understands and leverages sales process checkpoints as well as demonstrates evidence of gaining small trial closes and commitments. Qualifies and assesses potential customers. Refers leads to other business segments.
Addresses customer's financial, business, operational and environmental objectives, needs and requirements. Recommends solutions that match the customer’s business and financial challenges. Differentiates BIMS services and products from competitors based on business benefits and knowledge of competitor’s business strategies.
Education & Certifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline required. MBA preferred. A minimum of five to seven years of progressive field sales experience at the C-level. Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills. Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels. Ability to travel 50%
